Voices of Impact: Paying It Forward
Voices of Impact: Paying It Forward
Featuring Chason Forehand, HR4U
Welcome to Voices of Impact, an interview series highlighting nonprofit and community leaders creating meaningful change through service, innovation, and a deep commitment to the people they serve.
Some leaders are driven by an idea. Others are driven by an experience that changes the course of their lives.
For Chason Forehand, the opportunity to serve others is deeply personal. After receiving support during a difficult chapter in his own life, he made a commitment to pay that generosity forward. Today, through HR4U, he works to create opportunities that help individuals and communities build lasting change.
In this interview, Chason reflects on the personal experience that inspired his mission, the challenges of growing a nonprofit organization, and why creating sustainable community impact continues to guide his work.
💭 QUESTION 1
What first drew you to this mission, and what keeps you committed to it today?
I was someone who needed immediate services and was given opportunities by people paying it forward to me that allowed me to get out of my own way and create a new life for myself, so this is very personal work for me.
I do this work so that I can pay it forward to others.
💭 QUESTION 2
What’s one of the biggest challenges you’re navigating right now as you work to sustain or grow your organization’s impact?
Bringing in the finances and necessary hands to help build out the infrastructure as we grow.
💡 KEY INSIGHT
“I do this work so that I can pay it forward to others.”
💭 QUESTION 3
Can you share a recent moment, story, or practice that has helped your team keep moving forward or made the work feel especially meaningful?
Seeing the impact we are having in our first Transformation Kitchen™ with Rayo de Sol in Nicaragua.
We have a working kitchen in their main offices in Matagalpa, and a mobile kitchen set up to reach communities that are further away from their offices.
💭 QUESTION 4
As you look ahead a few years, what feels most important for your organization or the community you serve?
How we can have long-term impact in the communities we serve.
Transformation Kitchen™ is looking for its next home and the right community partner to help us build what’s next.
We’re exploring commercial kitchens, restaurants, schools, faith-based organizations, community spaces, municipalities, and other creative partnerships where existing kitchen infrastructure may already be available.
Know a space? Know someone we should meet?
We’d love an introduction.
